Key West, January 2002, Team Pegasus at Melges Worlds with two Boats

Pegasus 510 and 492 at Key West:

Team Pegasus is making major progress with the Melges 24. Our tune-up for the Worlds included the Asahi SuperCup in Hawaii. Winds were blowing between 20 and 30+ knots in perfect conditions.

Over 75 Melges 24s raced at the Worlds in Key West Florida.

Team Pegasus ran two boats at the Worlds: One skippered by Philippe and the other one with "Shark" Philippe's 12 year old 29er skiff-sailing son. Philippe's boat, included Brian Hutcherson mid-boat, superstar Mark Reynolds on tactics, Sean "Doogie" Couvreux. Both boats finished well in the first half of the fleet an excellent result given the fact that it was our first large fleet regatta.
